I have done a lot of freelance work for the video game company Atlus USA. I was asked to produce original assets for the manual to their Nintendo Wii launch game, Trauma Center: Second Opinion. Being a Japanese produced game meant the company needed imagery geared towards American audiences. At the time of the games release it was Atlus biggest game ever. In association with Project Lead Tomm Hulett, we came up with medically themed designs perfect for the information being presented in the manual.

This is a mock-up idea for a hula-hoop lesson. It was originally created for use in a christmas gift prank.

I was asked to produce the packaging for local Colorado Rock Band, Dread Pirate Roberts. This project was a lot of fun for many reasons. I designed the entire project based simply on the title of their demo "Killing the Poolboy."

Continuing my relationship with ASI. It came time for them to update their logo, and I was excited to help. The original logo was made by the owner and founder, William J. Carley. As a family owned business, they didn't want to lose what he'd done, they simply wanted it modernized a little. I kept the original shape and idea, added a horizon, and simplified the concept overall.

Shortly after completing the new ASI logo, they needed new business cards.

I produced this for ASI, located in Erie, Colorado. They needed a new brochure to show off their services for an aviation convention. The work done here involved basic page layout and fold consideration, and was produced quickly. It is a tri-fold design, intended for mailing purposes. I also had to recreate their logo in a digital Illustrator format for this job.

I produced this logo and letterhead package for Mark "Griz" Hatch, a Colorado based Casino Consultant. He's a character with a heck of a sense of humor. He wanted his head to be his logo. We had this printed on textured tan paper to give it a rugged look.

I was contracted to design the cover for the instruction manual for Atlus USA's Contact for Nintendo DS. Contact was a unique game that routinely breaks the 4th wall. So in association with project lead Tomm Hulett I created a cover based on Social Networking sites that were popular at the time, particularly Myspace and Livejournal, evoking personal pages, featuring one of the major characters of the game.

This is the logo I designed for my own video memoirs business. I produced video slide shows for families for graduations, birthdays and other events. It's always important to be able to look back at yourself and remember.

This is a DVD cover I created for one of the Mirrored Image video memoirs. I have blurred out the name for privacy reasons, but the design itself is still present. This was for a graduation gift, and her parents were able to give us the ink print of her feet.

I was asked to produce a cover image for this bands demo CD. They were a somewhat political punk band who definitely enjoyed dire imagery. The image is public domain.

I've always enjoyed drawing. Pencil and paper is the starting point for almost every project I do. Here are a couple of samples.

Eric and I work well together. We're a hell of a team. Eric needed some assistance for his final project in his Single Camera class at school, and brought me in. How could I say no? Eric and his group wrote and acted it. We filmed it over the course of a couple of hours, and produced the final video a few days later. Needless to say, his group got an A.
This is my first full HD production to appear on YouTube.
My good friend Eric Trevino became aware of a contest to be an extra in The Twilight Saga: New Moon. The video had to be one minute in length, and describe why the contestant should be in the movie. Eric thought some humor and creativity ought to stand out against the crowd, so he called me in to help write, direct and film it for him. We ended up with nearly twice as much material than could fit in the time limit. So we submitted minute long long cut, and posted the full version on Youtube.
Full EntryCreated for the local punk band Lucky Bastard, this mockumentary is in the spirit of the great movie This is Spinal Tap. This video would preceed the band during live shows as an introduction to the band and their sense of humor.

I was very fortunate to be able to participate in the localization of this anime. MÄR aired on Cartoon Network from 2006 to 2008. PCB Productions hired me to do the ADR Timing. The process involved watching the original Japanese version and marking the exact frame that a character started and stopped speaking, so that when they recorded the english dialogue with the actor, they had an exact starting point, ending point and duration. I did this work for all 52 episodes of the series that aired.
Full EntryThis was my final project when I was in the video editing classes at Platt College. While many people opted to take existing footage and make commercials or other kinds of videos, I was a little more ambitious. So I wrote, storyboarded, filmed and edited this little black comedy music video. I got a standing ovation, and an A!
Full EntryI love working with local bands. Dread Pirate Roberts is a band that I was close too, and they needed to shoot a music video for their single Scarlett. They asked me and I jumped at the opportunity. Performance videos; where the band simply performs their heart out is a staple of music videos. I shot a staged performance in an airplane hangar and combined it with multiple live shows that I recorded. My goal was to present the band in it's purest form. When you go to see a DPR show, this is exactly what you get. This video was also submitted in the Doritos Myspace Superbowl contest for a chance at a record contract and for the video to be played during the Superbowl. Though it didn't win, it received an enormous number of votes.
Full EntryPrior to being hired by Atlus for trailer work, they wanted to see what I could do. To that end, I took some footage from their popular Playstation 2 game, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, and cut a music video.
Full EntryA couple of years ago I did a little bit of trailer work for Atlus USA, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. A lot of my videos are comedy, and I wanted to stretch my wings and test my skills just a little bit. So I decided to produce a trailer for Konami's 2001 Survival Horror game: Silent Hill 2. This is primarily to show off my timing and effects skills in a darker, more serious genre.
Full EntryIn 2006, Atlus USA had begun work on the Nintendo Wii verison of their hit Nintendo DS game Trauma Center: Under the Knife. Dubbed Trauma Center: Second Opinion, this game was going to be released along side the Nintendo Wii in Nov of 2006. The system and it's launch games were unveiled at the Electronics Entertainment Expo that May. Atlus needed an impressive trailer for the games fans, as the game wasn't ready to be played at the Expo.

This is actually the third website I've done for ASI. The first one lasted about a year, before a new one was required. They requested a newer, simplfied design which has now been implemented. I worked very closely with Office Manager Melissa Davalos on all aspects of the design and layout.

I recently completed a full site redesign for the West End Salon in Boulder, CO. While the original site had been completed less than a year ago, the Salon changed locations, resulting in a total change of style. A change in style for the Salon required a change for the site. This update is also special, because the owner Deandra Salem recently passed away after a long battle with cancer, at the young age of 29. It was my honor to work with her.
