I love working with local bands. Dread Pirate Roberts is a band that I was close too, and they needed to shoot a music video for their single Scarlett. They asked me and I jumped at the opportunity.
Performance videos; where the band simply performs their heart out is a staple of music videos. I shot a staged performance in an airplane hangar and combined it with multiple live shows that I recorded.
My goal was to present the band in it's purest form. When you go to see a DPR show, this is exactly what you get.
This video was also submitted in the Doritos Myspace Superbowl contest for a chance at a record contract and for the video to be played during the Superbowl. Though it didn't win, it received an enormous number of votes.
